Compound:

Each tablet contains:

magnesium hydroxide 400 mg

algeldrate (as aluminum oxide hydrated) 400 mg (equivalent to 200 mg aluminum oxide)

Auxiliary components:

starch with sucrose (confectionery sugar); sorbitol; mannitol; magnesium stearate; peppermint flavor; sodium saccharin; sucrose.

Properties:

The drug neutralizes free hydrochloric acid without causing secondary hypersecretion of hydrochloric acid. Due to the increase in pH when it is taken, the peptic activity of gastric juice decreases. It also has an adsorbing and enveloping effect, due to which the impact of damaging factors on the mucous membrane is reduced.

Indications:

– peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum in the acute phase;

– acute gastroduodenitis, chronic gastroduodenitis with normal or increased secretory function in the acute phase;

– hiatal hernia, reflux esophagitis;

– dyspeptic phenomena, such as discomfort or pain in the epigastrium, heartburn, sour eructation after errors in the diet, excessive consumption of ethanol, coffee, nicotine;

Dosage and administration:

Inside, dissolving or chewing thoroughly.

Adults and adolescents over 15 years old – 1-2 tablets. 3-4 times a day 1-2 hours after meals and at night.

With reflux esophagitis, the drug is taken a short time after a meal.

The maximum number of doses of the drug is 6 times a day. Do not take more than 12 tablets. per day. The course of treatment should not exceed 2-3 months. With occasional use (for example, with discomfort after errors in the diet) – 1-2 tables. once.

Contraindications:

– hypersensitivity to active substances and other components of the drug;

– severe renal failure;

-hypophosphatemia;

– fructose intolerance (due to the presence of sorbitol in the preparation);

– glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome, sucrase-isomaltase deficiency (due to the presence of sucrose in the preparation) – for chewable tablets;

– intolerance to maltitol – for chewable tablets without sugar;

-Children and adolescents up to 15 years of age.

Precautionary measures:

Aluminum hydroxide can cause constipation, an overdose of magnesium salts can lead to a weakening of intestinal motility; in patients at high risk (patients with renal insufficiency, the elderly), taking high doses of the drug may cause or exacerbate intestinal obstruction and intestinal obstruction.

Side effects:

From the immune system: unknown frequency – hypersensitivity reactions such as itching, urticaria, angioedema and anaphylactic reactions.

From the digestive tract: infrequently – diarrhea, constipation.

From the side of metabolism: unknown frequency – hypermagnesemia, hyperaluminemia, hypophosphatemia (with long-term treatment or high doses, or when taking standard doses with a low phosphate content in food), which can lead to increased bone resorption, hypercalciuria, osteomalacia.
