Norinose 50 mcg/dose nasal spray 120 doses
Composition:
Mometasone furoate monohydrate 0.052 mg (equivalent to mometasone furoate 0.05 mg) per dose.
Excipients:
Microcrystalline cellulose, sodium carmellose, glycerin, benzalkonium chloride, polysorbate 80, citric acid monohydrate, sodium citrate dihydrate, water for injection.
Description:
Norinose is a glucocorticosteroid for intranasal use. It has anti-inflammatory and antiallergic effects. The mechanism of action is based on inhibition of inflammatory mediator release, reduction of arachidonic acid production, and suppression of prostaglandin synthesis.
Properties:
Reduces nasal mucosa inflammation. Relieves allergy symptoms (sneezing, itching, nasal congestion, rhinorrhea). Indicated for rhinitis, sinusitis, and nasal polyposis.
Indications:
Seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis in adults and children from 6 years old. Acute sinusitis or exacerbation of chronic sinusitis (from 12 years, as adjunct to antibiotics). Acute rhinosinusitis with mild to moderate symptoms (≥12 years). Prophylaxis of seasonal allergic rhinitis (from 12 years). Nasal polyps in adults (from 18 years).
Dosage:
Shake bottle before first use and press the pump 10 times until uniform spray appears.
Adults and adolescents ≥12 years: 2 sprays (50 mcg each) into each nostril once daily (200 mcg/day). Maintenance: 1 spray per nostril once daily (100 mcg/day). Maximum: 4 sprays per nostril once daily (400 mcg/day).
Children 6–11 years: 1 spray (50 mcg) per nostril once daily (100 mcg/day).
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to components. Untreated localized nasal infections. Recent nasal surgery or trauma before complete healing.
Precautions:
Use with caution in nasal infections. Patients on corticosteroids may have reduced immunity; advise medical consultation after contact with measles or chickenpox. Long-term use requires monitoring.
Adverse effects:
Infections: common — pharyngitis, upper respiratory tract infections.
Immune system: hypersensitivity, anaphylaxis, angioedema, bronchospasm.
Nervous system: common — headache.
Eye disorders: glaucoma, cataract, blurred vision, increased IOP.
Respiratory system: very common — epistaxis; common — nasal burning, irritation, ulcerations; possible — nasal septum perforation.
Gastrointestinal: common — throat irritation; possible — taste and smell disturbances.
