Indications for use:
Inflammatory diseases of the outer ear with suspected secondary infection
Method of administration and dosage:
2 – 3 drops twice a day in each ear, alternately, preferably in the supine position.
Treatment should be limited to 7-10 days.
Application in the elderly:
There is no evidence that the dosage should be different in the elderly.
Application in children:
Viotic drops are contraindicated in children under 2 years of age.
Hypersensitivity to any component.
Primary bacterial, viral or fungal infections of the outer ear, damage to the tympanic membrane.
Use in children under 2 years of age.
Precautions:
Long-term continuous therapy should be avoided, as this can lead to disruption of the adrenal glands.
Pregnancy and lactation period:
There is insufficient evidence for the safety of use in pregnancy.
There is no information whether Viotic’s active substances pass into breast milk after topical application. Application in nursing mothers should only be under medical supervision.
Effects on ability to drive and use cars:
Side effects:
Viotic is generally well tolerated, but sometimes irritation, burning, itching or skin rash may occur at the site of application.
Overdose:
Viotic is intended for local (external) use only. In case of accidental use above the required dose, rinse with running water.
