Composition and form of release:
Contains:
Ephedrine hydrochloride 0.5%
Naphazoline nitrate 0.125%.
Nasal spray, 15 ml, plastic bottle.
Pharmachologic effect:
Combined nasal decongestant, which in usual therapeutic doses has a quick and long-lasting decongestant effect on the inflamed mucous membrane, and thus improves breathing in case of nasal congestion.
With long-term use of drugs in this group, there is a decrease in their effectiveness associated with atrophy of the nasal mucosa and / or the development of the “rebound” effect ( rhinitis medicamentosa ), so it is not recommended to use them continuously for more than 7 days.
Indications:
Symptomatic treatment of nasal congestion for colds, rhinitis and sinusitis.
Contraindications:
- Individual intolerance to the components o the drug.
- Pregnancy and lactation
- Children under 12 years old
- Conditions associated with the risk of urinary retention in the presence of prostate diseases.
Side effects:
- Hypersensitivity reactions (rash, itching, etc.).
Headache.
- Feeling of heartbeat, increased blood pressure; very rarely – tachycardia.
- Irritation and / or dryness of the nasopharyngeal mucosa, burning, tingling, sneezing, hypersecretion of the nasopharyngeal mucosa.
Dosing regimen:
Adults and children over 12 years old: 1-2 sprays into each nostril up to 3 times a day. is not recommended to use for more than 7 days without the advice of a specialist.
