Composition and form of release:
Rinex nasal drops (adults) 0.1% contain 0.1 mg \ 1 ml of Xylometazoline hydrochloride
Rinex nasal drops (for children) 0.05% contain 0.05 mg / 1 ml of Xylometazoline hydrochloride.

Pharmachologic effect:
A vasoconstrictor for topical use in ENT practice. When applied to mucous membranes, it causes vasoconstriction, as a result of which local hyperemia and edema decrease. With rhinitis, it makes nasal breathing easier. The effect occurs within a few minutes after use and lasts for several hours. Rinex is well tolerated by patients with sensitive nasal mucosa without impairing the functions of its epithelium.
Indications:
Treatment of nasal congestion, chronic, perennial and seasonal allergic rhinitis (including hay fever), sinusitis.
Contraindications:
– Angle-closure glaucoma.
– Atrophic rhinitis
– Arterial hypertension.
– Tachycardia.
– Severe atherosclerosis.
– Hyperthyroidism.
– Surgical interventions on the meninges (in history).
– Hypersensitivity to xylometazoline.
– Children up to 12 years old (for Rinex 0.1%), children up to 6 years old (for Rinex 0.05%).
Application during pregnancy and lactation:
Category C. The drug should not be used during pregnancy.
During lactation, the use of the drug is possible only under the supervision of a physician.
Side effects:
With frequent and / or prolonged use: irritation of the mucous membrane, burning, tingling, sneezing, dry nasal mucosa, hypersecretion.
Rarely: swelling of the nasal mucosa (more often with prolonged use), palpitations, cardiac arrhythmias, increased blood pressure, headache, vomiting, sleep disorders, visual impairment.
Dosing regimen:
Rinex nasal drops 0.1% – For adults and children over 12 years old, 2-3 drops in each nostril 2-3 times a day.
Rinex nasal drops 0.05% – For children over 6 years old, 1-2 drops in each nostril 1-2 times a day.
Continuous use of the drug for more than 7 days in adult patients and no more than 5 days in children is not recommended without a doctor’s prescription in order to avoid mucosal atrophy and the development of “rebound” syndrome.
Storage method:
Keep out of the reach of children at a temperature not exceeding 25 degrees.
