Composition:
Each tablet contains:
Atenolol – 50mg.
Properties:
Atenolol is a blocker of beta I-hadronergic receptors in the heart. It has no intrinsic sympathomimetic activity or membrane stabilizing properties. Atonolol does not cross the blood-brain barrier, so it is completely devoid of side effects at the CNS level.
Because of its simple dosing regimen and fast response, BLOKIUM is an effective drug, especially in antihypertensive therapy, and is well tolerated by patients.
Indications:
Treatment of all types of hypertension, including renal hypertension.
Coronary insufficiency, angina pectoris and rhythm disturbances.
Mode of application:
Recommended dose:100 mg per day as a single or divided dose, which can be increased.
Administered simultaneously with diuretics and other antihypertensive drugs.
Contraindications:
In cases of heart block (second or third degree).
Patients with untreated heart failure.
During pregnancy and lactation.
Precautions:
With a decrease in heart rate to 45 beats/min or below, the dose should be reduced or the drug should be discontinued.
Can be used in patients with chronic obstructive bronchopathy, however, in patients with asthma, bronchospasm may occur, which is suppressed with salbutamol.
In patients with impaired renal function, the dose should be adjusted.
The anesthesiologist should be aware of the use of atenolol in patients under general anesthesia.
As with other beta blockers, treatment should not be abruptly stopped.
Side effects:
Cold extremities, muscle fatigue, bradycardia.
