Composition:
Thiemonium methyl sulfate — 5 mg
Pharmacological properties
Thiemonium methyl sulfate has the following effects:
1. Antispasmodic effect
Relaxes the smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract, biliary and urinary tract
Relieves pain caused by spasms of internal organs
2. Anticholinergic effect
Blocks muscarinic receptors
Reduces secretion of glands and gastrointestinal motility
Indications for use
Biliary and renal colic
Spastic pain in gastritis, peptic ulcer, enteritis, colitis
Dysmenorrhea (painful menstruation)
Spasms of the bladder and ureters
Preparation for diagnostic procedures (eg, endoscopy)
Method of administration and Dosage
Intramuscular (IM) or intravenous (IV) slowly
Adults: 5-10 mg every 4-6 hours as needed, maximum 50 mg daily.
Children: 2.5-5 mg every 4-6 hours as needed, maximum 25 mg daily.
Usually 1 ampoule (5 mg) 1-3 times daily
Maximum daily dose determined by the physician
Duration of treatment depends on the clinical situation and response to therapy
