Tusskan Syrup 100 ml
Composition: (per 5 ml of syrup)
• Dextromethorphan hydrobromide – 4.56 mg
(central antitussive agent)
• Diphenhydramine hydrochloride – 5 mg
(antihistamine and sedative agent, relieves itching and irritation)
• Ephedrine hydrochloride – 7.5 mg
(bronchodilator and vasoconstrictor)
• Guaifenesin – 100 mg
(mucolytic agent, helps to clear mucus).
Tusskan Syrup is a combination cough remedy with expectorant, antitussive, antihistamine, and bronchodilator effects. It is used for productive cough accompanied by airway congestion and mucous membrane irritation.
Pharmacological properties:
• Reduces the cough reflex
• Thins mucus and facilitates its expectoration
• Relieves nasal and bronchial congestion
• Soothes irritation and itching in the throat.
Indications:
• Acute and chronic bronchitis
• Common cold with cough and nasal congestion
• Allergic cough
• Cough with difficult-to-expectorate sputum.
Dosage and administration:
• Adults and adolescents over 12 years: 10 ml 3 times a day
• Children 6–12 years: 5 ml 3 times a day
• Take after meals.
• Do not exceed the recommended dose.
