Famotidine 20 mg

Auxiliary components:

Anhydrous citric acid, sodium bicarbonate, sodium saccharin, mannitol, tutti-frutti flavor.

Famotidine is a competitive histamine antagonist. Acting on the histamine H2-receptors of parietal cells, it significantly reduces the secretion of hydrochloric acid caused by various stimuli. The basal secretion of hydrochloric acid also decreases. The induced secretion of pepsinogen is inhibited to a lesser extent. Causes a dose-dependent suppression of hydrochloric acid production and a decrease in pepsin activity. Does not significantly alter plasma gastrin levels.

Benign stomach ulcer.

Duodenal ulcer (treatment and prevention of relapse).

Hypersecretory conditions such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.

Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (reflux esophagitis).

Prevention of the development of symptoms and erosion or ulceration associated with gastroesophageal reflux disease.

Famotidine is most effective in the evening before bed. When taking famotidine twice a day, one dose should be taken in the morning, the second in the evening before bedtime.

Dissolve the contents of the sachet in a glass of water and take inside.

Hypersensitivity to the active substance, other H2-receptor antagonists or other components of the drug.

Age, period of pregnancy and lactation (due to lack of necessary clinical experience).

Before starting treatment, it is necessary to exclude the possibility of a malignant disease of the esophagus, stomach or duodenum, since Famotidine can mask the symptoms.

From the digestive system: dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, flatulence, constipation, diarrhea, impaired appetite; increased activity of liver enzymes, hepatitis, acute pancreatitis.

From the side of the central nervous system: headache, dizziness, insomnia, anxiety, tinnitus; increased fatigue, drowsiness, depression, nervousness, psychosis; blurred visual perception, paresis of accommodation; confusion, hallucinations, hyperthermia.

From the side of the cardiovascular system: bradycardia, arrhythmia, vasculitis, lowering blood pressure, AV blockade.

Dermatological reactions: dry skin, alopecia, acne vulgaris, skin rash, itching, bronchospasm,

angioedema, anaphylactic shock, other manifestations of hypersensitization.

From the hematopoietic system: leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, agranulocytosis, pancytopenia, hypoplasia, bone marrow aplasia.

On the part of the reproductive system: with prolonged use of large doses – hyperprolactinemia, gynecomastia, amenorrhea,

decreased libido, impotence.
