Composition:

Each sachet contains Mesalazine (Mesalamine) 2 g.

Product Description:

Pentasa Xtend is a prolonged-release oral formulation of mesalazine designed to deliver the active substance throughout the gastrointestinal tract.
Granules are supplied in individual sachets for once- or twice-daily dosing.
Indicated for inflammatory bowel disease management.

Properties of the Product:

Mesalazine is an anti-inflammatory agent acting locally on the colonic mucosa.
It inhibits cyclooxygenase and reduces prostaglandin production.
Prolonged-release granules ensure continuous delivery along the intestine.
Supports mucosal healing and reduces inflammatory activity in ulcerative colitis.

Indications for Use:

Treatment of mild to moderate ulcerative colitis.
Maintenance of remission in ulcerative colitis.
May be used in other inflammatory bowel conditions as directed by a gastroenterologist.

Method of Administration and Dosage:

Administer orally; granules may be taken directly from the sachet or mixed with soft food.
Do not chew; swallow granules whole.
Typical adult dosing: 2 g to 4 g daily in divided or single doses, depending on disease severity.
Dosing must follow physician instructions.
Drink adequate fluids.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to mesalazine, salicylates, or any excipients.
Severe renal impairment.
