Composition:
Each 20 ml of suspension contains:
Clotrimazole 200 mg.
Properties:
Clotrimazole is a broad-spectrum antifungal agent for topical use.
The antifungal effect of clotrimazole (an imidazole derivative) is associated with the disruption of ergosterol synthesis, an essential component of fungal cell membranes, which alters membrane permeability and leads to subsequent cell lysis.
Clotrimazole is effective against dermatophytes, yeast-like fungi, and molds, as well as the causative agents of pityriasis versicolor and erythrasma.
Clotrimazole also exhibits antimicrobial activity against gram-positive bacteria (staphylococci, streptococci), gram-negative bacteria (Bacteroides, Gardnerella vaginalis) and Trichomonas vaginalis.
Indications:
Clotrimazole is prescribed for the treatment of fungal infections of the mucous membranes and skin, including mycoses of the feet and skin folds.
The medication is used for:
Nail fungus
Ringworm
Psoriasis
Seborrheic dermatitis.
Dosage and Administration:
Apply by massaging gently onto the affected areas of the skin twice daily, in the morning and evening.
The average duration of treatment is 4 weeks.
Contraindications:
The medication is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any of its components.
According to the instructions for use, clotrimazole is not recommended for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Side Effects:
The main adverse reaction associated with the use of this medication is allergic reactions.
When applied to mucous membranes and skin, the following may occur:
Burning sensation and itching
Swelling
Formation of watery blisters
Redness of treated areas
Tingling
Peeling.
Storage Conditions:
Store at a temperature not exceeding 25°C in a cool, dry place.
