Composition:

Each tablet contains:

Sodium picosulfate 5 mg

Properties:

Laxative. Under the influence of intestinal microorganisms, it is hydrolyzed with the formation of an active form, which causes irritation of the receptors of the intestinal mucosa and an increase in its peristalsis. Promotes the accumulation of water and electrolytes in the large intestine, which leads to the stimulation of the act of defecation, reducing the time of evacuation and softening of the stool.

Indications:

Constipation due to atony and hypotension of the colon (including in old age, in bedridden patients, after operations, after childbirth and during lactation); constipation caused by taking medications; constipation due to intestinal dysbacteriosis, diet disorders; to regulate stool with hemorrhoids, proctitis, anal fissures; diseases of the gallbladder, irritable bowel syndrome with a predominance of constipation.

Dosage and administration:

inside.

Adults and children over 10 years of age take 1 tablet (5-10 mg) at bedtime.

Take for no longer than 5 days.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to sodium picosulfate; intestinal obstruction or obstructive bowel disease; acute diseases of the abdominal organs or severe abdominal pain, which may be accompanied by nausea, vomiting, fever, including appendicitis; acute inflammatory bowel disease; severe dehydration; I trimester of pregnancy; children’s age – depending on the dosage form.

Warnings and precautions:

Do not use daily without medical supervision for more than 10 days.Dizziness and fainting that occur after taking sodium picosulfate may be associated with a vasovagal reaction (eg, straining to defecate, abdominal cramps).

It is impossible to exclude the possibility of the development of spontaneous defecation. If the nature of the stool does not change when taking sodium picosulfate for a long time, it is necessary to consult a doctor to find out the cause of constipation.

Side effects:

From the digestive system: dyspepsia, flatulence, nausea, vomiting, cramps and pain in the abdomen, diarrhea.

From the nervous system: dizziness, fainting, drowsiness, increased fatigue.

From the immune system: allergic reactions, angioedema, allergic dermatitis.

From the skin and subcutaneous tissues: skin rash, urticaria, itching.

From the side of metabolism: increased excretion of potassium, sodium and other electrolytes, dehydration.
