Famotin

Structure:

Each tablet contains:

Famotidine – 20mg.

Properties:

Famotidine is a competitive inhibitor of histamine H2 receptors. Acts by reducing the amount of acid secreted by the stomach.

Indications:

Treatment and prevention of ulcers in the stomach and intestines. Conditions in which the stomach produces too much acid, such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and other conditions in which acid passes from the esophagus into the stomach, causing heartburn.

Mode of application:

For heartburn, indigestion and indigestion – 1 tablet as needed when symptoms occur or 30-60 minutes before meals; no more than 2 tablets per day. If symptoms persist for 5 days or if symptoms recur within 2 weeks after completion of the course, clinical investigation is required.

Duodenal ulcer: initial therapy: the recommended dose is 2 tablets (40 mg) per day, at night. Treatment should be 4-8 weeks, but the duration may be shortened if the ulcer has healed. Supportive therapy: to prevent recurrence of duodenal ulcers, it is recommended to continue treatment with 1 tablet (20 mg) per day, at night. Duration – 12 months.

Benign stomach ulcer: the recommended dose is 2 tablets (40 mg) per day, at night. Treatment is carried out for 4-8 weeks.

Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome: Should start with a dose of 20 mg every 6 hours. The dosage should be tailored to the individual needs of the patient and should be continued for as long as clinically indicated.

GERD; erosion or ulceration of the esophagus; to prevent recurrence of symptoms, erosion or ulceration: the recommended dose is 20 mg 2 times a day. No efficacy studies have been conducted for six months.

In patients with moderate to severe renal impairment, the dose can be reduced by half or the dosing interval can be increased to 36-48 hours.

Contraindications:

Childhood; hypersensitivity to any component of the drug; pregnancy and lactation.

Precautions:

Malignant neoplasms of the stomach should be excluded. Famotidine does not exclude the presence of a malignant stomach tumor. No dose adjustment is required in the elderly.

Side effects:

Headache, constipation, or diarrhea; labored breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat; heart palpitations with severe dizziness; unexplained muscle pain, weakness, fever, unusual tiredness, dark urine.

Storage:

Store at a temperature not exceeding 30C in a dry place out of the reach of children.

Packaging:

The box contains blisters of 10 tablets each, paper instructions.
