Composition:
• Active ingredient:
Esomeprazole (esomeprazole) — 20 mg

Pharmacological properties:
• Inactivates H⁺/K⁺-ATPase (proton pump) in the parietal cells of the stomach
• Significantly reduces the acidity of gastric juice
• Has a long-term effect with a single dose

Indications for use:
• Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
• Erosive esophagitis
• Peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum
• Prevention of ulcers when taking NSAIDs
• Zollinger-Ellison syndrome
• Eradication of Helicobacter pylori (as part of combination therapy)

Method of administration and dosage:
Adults are usually prescribed 20 mg once a day, preferably 30-60 minutes before meals. The tablet should be swallowed whole, without chewing or breaking, with a sufficient amount of water.
• For gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and erosive esophagitis: 20 mg once a day for 4-8 weeks.
• For the prevention of GERD relapses: 20 mg once a day on an ongoing basis.
• For ulcers caused by taking NSAIDs: 20 mg once a day for 4-8 weeks.
• For the eradication of Helicobacter pylori (as part of triple therapy): 20 mg 2 times a day for 7-10 days together with two antibiotics.
The maximum daily dose without a doctor's prescription is 40 mg. The duration of the course depends on the disease and is determined by the doctor.
