Each 5 g sachet contains:
Magnesium citrate 2.125 g
Properties:
Magnesium ions inhibit the formation of calcium oxalate crystals in combination with exogenous oxalate, preventing the formation of renal crystalluria. Citrate ions make urine alkaline, so urate can dissolve and be easily excreted. Therefore, magnesium citrate may be prescribed to prevent the recurrence of calcium oxalate kidney stones. Magnesium citrate is an osmotic laxative.
Indications:
– Oxaluria.
– Mild laxative to relieve constipation.
Mode of application:
Dissolve the contents of one sachet in half a glass of water and take 3 times a day or as directed by a physician.
Contraindications:
– Abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and other symptoms of appendicitis.
– Abdominal surgery.
– Intestinal obstruction or intestinal perforation.
– Fissures of the rectum.
Precautionary measures:
Oral magnesium salts, including magnesium citrate, should be used with caution:
– Patients with impaired renal function.
– Patients with rectal bleeding. – During pregnancy and lactation.
Side effects:
