Exeedogast 40 mg 20 capsules

Composition:

Esomeprazole magnesium trihydrate.
Equivalent to esomeprazole – 40 mg.
Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, crospovidone, magnesium stearate, talc, titanium dioxide, coloring agent (red iron oxide).

Product Description:

The drug belongs to proton pump inhibitors (PPIs).
Capsules contain enteric-coated granules that ensure the release of the active substance in the intestine.
Esomeprazole reduces gastric acid secretion, relieving symptoms of acid-related diseases.

Indications for use:

  • Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
  • Erosive esophagitis.
  • Prevention of ulcer recurrence associated with Helicobacter pylori (in combination with antibiotics).
  • Treatment and prevention of ulcers caused by NSAIDs.
  • Zollinger–Ellison syndrome.
  • Prevention of recurrent ulcer bleeding after intravenous therapy.

Method of administration and dosage:

Adults: for GERD and esophagitis – 40 mg once daily for 4–8 weeks.
Maintenance therapy – 20 mg once daily.
For Zollinger–Ellison syndrome – individually, usually 40 mg twice daily.
Children over 12 years: dosage similar to adults for GERD.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to esomeprazole or other substituted benzimidazoles.
Concomitant use with preparations containing nelfinavir.
Children under 12 years (for 40 mg dosage).

Precautions:

Long-term use may cause vitamin B12 and magnesium deficiency.
Caution in severe hepatic impairment.
Not recommended for prolonged use without medical supervision.

Adverse reaction / Side effects:

Common: headache, diarrhea, abdominal pain, constipation, flatulence. Less common: skin rash, dizziness, dry mouth.
Rare: interstitial nephritis, hypomagnesemia, osteoporosis with long-term use.

Pregnancy and lactation:

Use is possible only if the expected benefit outweighs the potential risk.
Esomeprazole passes into breast milk; breastfeeding should be discontinued if treatment is necessary.

Storage conditions:

Store at a temperature not exceeding 30°C.
Protect from light and moisture.
Keep out of reach of children.

Packaging:

Capsules of 40 mg in a carton box containing 20 capsules.
