Description

Dicetel contains pinaverium bromide, a spasmolytic agent used to manage functional disorders of the gastrointestinal and biliary systems. It helps relieve intestinal spasms, pain, and discomfort by acting on smooth muscles. Dicetel is also indicated for use in diagnostic preparation such as barium enema procedures.

Indications for Use

-Symptomatic treatment of pain, motility disturbances, and intestinal discomfort associated with functional bowel disorders

-Symptomatic treatment of pain related to functional disorders of the biliary tract

-Preparation for a barium enema

Directions for Use and Dosage

Adults:

The usual recommended dosage is 1 tablet twice daily: once in the morning and once in the evening.

In some cases, the dosage may be increased to 1 tablet three times daily.

For barium enema preparation:

Take 2 tablets per day (1 in the morning and 1 in the evening) for 3 days before the procedure.

Method of administration:

Swallow the tablets whole without chewing or sucking

Take the tablets with a glass of water during meals

Do not take the tablets while lying down or just before bedtime

Contraindications

-Hypersensitivity to pinaverium bromide or any of the excipients

-Rare hereditary conditions such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption

-Pediatric patients (due to insufficient data on safety)

Precautions

-Strict adherence to administration instructions is essential to avoid upper gastrointestinal irritation or esophageal injury

-Patients with pre-existing esophageal lesions or hiatal hernia should take special care with administration

-Dicetel should not be used during pregnancy unless clearly necessary, as there is insufficient data on its effects

-Pinaverium bromide should be avoided during breastfeeding due to lack of safety data

-Near the end of pregnancy, the presence of bromide may affect the newborn neurologically, particularly at high cumulative doses

Side Effects

Gastrointestinal disorders:

Abdominal pain

Diarrhea

Nausea

Vomiting

Dysphagia (difficulty swallowing)

Esophagitis

Esophageal ulcers

Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders:

Rash

Pruritus (itching)

Urticaria (hives)

Erythema (skin redness)

Immune system disorders:

Hypersensitivity reactions, including allergic responses

Pregnancy and Lactation

Pregnancy:

There are insufficient data on the use of pinaverium bromide during pregnancy. Animal studies are inadequate. Use during pregnancy should only occur if the potential benefit outweighs the potential risk, as determined by a physician. Caution is advised in late pregnancy due to possible bromide effects on the newborn.

Lactation:

In the absence of data on excretion into breast milk, use during breastfeeding is not recommended.
