Suspension for diarrhea and intestinal colic

Composition:

Each 100 ml contains:

Calcium carbonate 8 gm

Kaolin 8 gm

Tincture catechu 15 ml

Tincture belladonna 2 ml

Anise oil 0,2 ml

Lemon oil 1 ml

Properties:

Diastop suspension provides a comprehensive formula, effective for treatment of intestinal disorders associated with diarrhea, intestinal colic and flatulence. Diastop suspension contains calcium carbonate and kaolin, both components are converted to insoluble calcium and aluminum carbonate in the intestine and increase the viscosity of the intestinal contents helping to stop diarrhea.

Tincture catechu is added to stop diarrhea as it has astringent action on the intestinal mucous membrane.

The associated  intestinal colic is relieved by the antispasmodic action of tincture belladonna. Delayed passage of intestinal contents leads to more water being absorbed, which causes decrease in intestinal tone and motility through Anise oil, being carminative and antispasmodic relieves flatulence, associated gastric and intestinal colic and gives the sense of well being.

Lemon oil renders Diastop polatable with an accepted taste.

Indications:

• Acute diarrhea in infants and young children
• Summer diarrhea

Side effects:

Diastop has neither reported side effects nor special precautions during the administration of the prescribed dose.

Dosage and administration:

• Infants up to 1 year: 0,5-1,5 teaspoonful 3 times daily.
• Children above 1 year:  teaspoonfuls 3-4 times daily or as prescribed by the physician.

Storage:

Store in a dry place at a temperature not exceeding 30°C.
