Properties and mechanism of action
Stimulating bile flow: Ingredients such as camphene are believed to stimulate the secretion of bile. Bile acts as a natural cleanser, breaking down dietary fats into smaller particles that are easier for the body to digest. This is especially useful for people who have difficulty digesting fatty foods.
Stimulating digestive juices: The mixture is aimed at gently stimulating the body's own production of digestive enzymes and gastric acid. They are necessary for the effective breakdown of proteins, carbohydrates and fats. Reduces Gas and Bloating (Carminative): Menthol and anise are known carminatives. They help relax the muscles of the digestive tract, allowing trapped gases to pass more easily and preventing the uncomfortable buildup that causes bloating.
Soothes Muscle Spasms (Anti-spasmodic): The relaxing action of ingredients like menthol can help relieve mild cramps or spasms in the intestines that contribute to the discomfort caused by indigestion.
Stimulates Appetite: Anise, in particular, has a traditional reputation as a gentle appetite stimulant, making it useful for those suffering from loss of appetite due to illness, stress, or other factors.
