Each soft gel contains:
Lubiprostone – 24 mcg.
Auxiliary components:
medium chain triglycerides, gelatin, sorbitol, glycerin, methyl paraben, propyl paraben, titanium dioxide, quinoline yellow, purified water.
Properties:
Lubiprostone is a laxative. By increasing intestinal secretion, it increases motility and facilitates the excretion of feces. Helps restore the barrier function of the mucous membrane and reduce intestinal permeability.
Indications:
treatment of chronic idiopathic constipation in adults; opioid-induced constipation in patients with chronic non-cancer pain; irritable bowel syndrome in women over 18 years of age.
Mode of application:
inside, the capsules should be swallowed whole. Chronic idiopathic constipation and opioid-induced constipation: the recommended dose is 24 mcg 2 times a day with meals with water. For moderate hepatic impairment, the recommended starting dose is 16 mcg twice daily. With severe liver dysfunction, the recommended initial dose is 8 mcg 2 times a day. Irritable bowel syndrome with constipation: 8 mcg 2 times a day. With severe liver dysfunction, the recommended initial dose is 8 mcg once a day.
Contraindications:
childhood; with suspected or confirmed mechanical obstruction of the gastrointestinal tract; hypersensitivity to any components of the drug; pregnancy and lactation.
Precautionary measures:
if there is no effect for a certain period of time and the initial dose is well tolerated, it is increased to the full daily dose. With moderate impairment of liver function, dose adjustment is not required.
Side effects:
headache; abdominal pain, flatulence, nausea, diarrhea; dyspnea; muscle cramps, tremors, loss of appetite.
Storage method:
Store at a temperature not exceeding 30C in a dry place out of the reach of children.
