Composition:

Each capsule contains:

Thioctic acid (alpha lipoic acid) 600 mg

Inactive ingredients:

Starch, gelatin, titanium dioxide, magnesium stearate.

Properties:

It is an endogenous antioxidant that binds free radicals.  Thioctic (α-lipoic) acid is involved in the mitochondrial metabolism of the cell, it performs the function of a coenzyme in the complex of transformation of substances with a pronounced antitoxic effect.  They protect the cell from reactive radicals arising from intermediate metabolism or from the breakdown of exogenous foreign substances, and from heavy metals.  Thioctic acid shows synergism with respect to insulin, which is associated with an increase in glucose utilization.  In diabetic patients, thioctic acid leads to a change in the concentration of pyruvic acid in the blood.

Indications:

Diabetic polyneuropathy, neuritis, polyneuritis, optic neuritis and encephalopathy.

Adjuvant therapy in the treatment of male infertility.

Dosage and administration:

On average, take 1 capsule per day 30 minutes before meals.

The dosage is determined by the doctor depending on the indications.

Take the tablets on an empty stomach.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

Warnings and precautions:

During the period of use of thioctic acid in patients with diabetes mellitus, constant monitoring of the concentration of glucose in the blood plasma is necessary, especially at the initial stage of therapy.  In some cases, it may be necessary to reduce the dose of insulin or oral hypoglycemic drugs in order to avoid the development of hypoglycemia.  If symptoms of hypoglycemia occur (dizziness, increased sweating, headache, blurred vision, nausea), the use of thioctic acid should be discontinued immediately.

Side effects:

Nervous system: often – dizziness.

Digestive system: often – nausea, vomiting.

Storage:

Store at a temperature not exceeding 30 degrees.
