Bionorica Sinupret Syrup 100 ml

Composition:

100 ml (corresponding to 120.8 g) of syrup contain 41.7 g of an extract (1:38.5) from 1.1 g of a mixture from Gentiana lutea L., radix (Gentian root), Primulae flos cum calycibus (Primula flower with calyx), Rumicis herba (Common sorrel herb), Sambucus nigra L., flos (Elder flower) and Verbena officinalis L., herba (Verbena herb)

Posology and method of administration:

Unless prescribed otherwise, adults and adolescents from the age of 12 years: 7.0 ml 3 times daily; children from the age of 6 to 11 years: 3.5 ml 3 times daily; children from the age of 2 to 5 years: 2.1 ml 3 times daily. Use the enclosed measuring cup.

Indication:

Sinupret Syrup is indicated in adults and children from 2 years of age for the treatment of acute and chronic inflammation of the paranasal sinuses.

Precautions:

If you are hypersensitive (allergic) to gentian root, verbena herb, common sorrel herb , elder flower, primula flower or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

If the patient experiences nosebleed, fever, severe pain, purulent nasal discharge, impaired vision, asymmetric midface or eyes or facial numbness, differential diagnosis and medical treatment are required because these are symptoms of a severe rhinosinusitis.

If symptoms persist for more than 7-14 days, worsen or recur periodically, the patient is advised to consult a doctor.

This product contains 8 vol% alcohol (ethanol).

Patients with rare hereditary problems of fructose intolerance should not take this medicine. 7.0 ml Sinupret® Syrup contain 5.5 g maltitol liquid, Maltitol may have a mild laxative effect. The calorific value is 2.3 kcal/g maltitol.

Children:

The medicine should not be used in children under 2 years of age.

There are no sufficient investigations to date on the use of Sinupreto syrup in children under 2 years of age.

Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility:

Like all medicinal products, Sinupret Syrup should be administered during pregnancy only after strict risk-benefit evaluation by the attending physician. it is unknown whether the active substances/metabolites of Sinupret® Syrup are excreted in human milk. A risk to the breastfed child cannot be excluded.

Sinupret® Syrup should not be used during breast-feeding.

In animal studies no effects on fertility were observed.

Driving and using machines:

No studies with Sinupret® Syrup on the effects on the ability to drive and use machines have been performed.



Method of administration:

You should check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Using the enclosed measuring cup take Sinupret syrup 3 times dally (morning, midday, evening). 

If desired, Sinupret Syrup may be taken together with some liquid (no alcohol), preferably a glass of water.

You can take Sinupret Syrup with meals, with beverages, or independently of meals. If you have a sensitive stomach, you should best take Sinupret Syrup after meals.

Side Effects:

Like all medicines, Sinupret Syrup can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Significant side effects or signs to which you should pay attention and actions to take if you are affected:

Gastrointestinal disorders (such as stomach ache, nausea) and local hypersensitivity reactions such as exanthema, erythema, pruritus are uncommon.

Furthermore, systemic allergic reactions such as angioedema, dyspnoea, face oedema may occur. The frequency is not known.

At the first signs of a hypersensitivity reaction Sinupret Syrup must not be taken again.

It side effects occur, the medicine should be discontinued and a doctor should be consulted. The doctor can determine the severity and whether any action is necessary.

Storage Method:

Keep this medicine out of sight and reach of children

Do not store above 25°C before and after opening.

After first opening Sinupret Syrup has a shelf life of 6 months.
