Properties:
SELGON, pipasetate hydrochloride, is a cough suppressant that, by acting on the central cough center, helps to get rid of an unproductive irritant cough within 10 – 30 minutes and a duration of 4 – 6 hours. The advantage of Selgon is that it does not cause addiction.
Indications:
An irritating non-productive cough, such as a smoker’s cough.
Dosage and administration:
Children over 12 and adults:
1-2 tablets 3 times a day.
Contraindications:
Patients with sugar intolerance.
Precautionary measures:
With a strong irritating cough, the dose can be doubled if necessary.
Side effects:
SELGON sometimes causes drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, anxiety, insomnia, or hives.
Storage method:
