Composition:

Each 5 ml of syrup contains:

Potassium chloride 0.165 g

Auxiliary components:

Sucrose, methylparaben, propylparaben, sodium benzoate, purified water.

Properties:

Potassium preparation, restores water-electrolyte balance. It has a negative chrono- and batmotropic effect, in high doses – negative ino- and dromotropic, as well as a moderate diuretic effect. In small doses, the preparation of potassium dilates the coronary vessels, in large doses it narrows. Participates in the process of conducting nerve impulses.

Indications:

Hypokalemia (including against the background of diabetes mellitus, prolonged diarrhea and / or vomiting, therapy with antihypertensive drugs, some diuretics, glucocorticosteroids), treatment and prevention of glycoside intoxication, paroxysmal tachycardia, prevention and treatment of ectopic arrhythmias in patients with myocardial infarction (in acute period).

Method of administration and dosage:

Children:

1 teaspoon 3 times a day after meals.

Adults:

1 tablespoon 3 times a day after meals.

Contraindications:

Hyperkalemia, complete atrioventricular block, adrenal insufficiency, chronic renal failure, concomitant therapy with potassium-sparing diuretics, metabolic disorders (acidosis, hypovolemia with hyponatremia).

Precautionary measures:

During the treatment period, it is necessary to control the content of potassium ions in the blood serum, an electrocardiogram, in the treatment of hypokalemia – to control the acid-base state.

A diet high in sodium increases the excretion of potassium from the body.

It should be borne in mind that hyperkalemia, leading to death, can develop quickly and be asymptomatic.

Side effects:

From the nervous system: paresthesias, muscle weakness, confusion.

From the side of the cardiovascular system: lowering blood pressure, arrhythmias, heart block, cardiac arrest.

Others: hyperkalemia, allergic reactions.
