Composition:
Each capsule contains:
Zinc sulfate 110 mg
(Equivalent to 25 mg zinc)
Properties:
Zinc is one of the most important trace elements involved in intracellular metabolism and one of the main factors that stabilize cell membranes. It is part of many enzyme systems that regulate the basic metabolic processes, in particular, it is involved in the synthesis of proteins and carbohydrate metabolism.
Indications:
Diseases associated with zinc deficiency in body, as well as in the complex therapy of diseases and conditions leading to the development of zinc deficiency:
-enteropathic acrodermatitis (Acrodermatitis enteropathica);
-hypogonadism;
alopecia areata (Alopecia areata);
-malignant baldness (Alopecia maligna);
- purulent and phlegmonous acne
(Acnepustulosa and acne phlegmonosa);
- with long-term treatment with corticosteroids, especially at the time of drug withdrawal;
- as an auxiliary treatment for difficult-to-heal wounds.
Method of administration and dosage:
1-2 capsules per day.
Contraindications:
hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the components of the drug;
-Children’s age (up to 4 years old).
Precautions:
When using zinc preparations, the risk of copper deficiency should be taken into account (when taking Ostotsink for more than 3-4 months, additional prescription of copper preparations is advisable).
Long-term use of high doses of zinc can lead to secondary copper deficiency in the body. Symptoms of this condition include hypocurimia, impaired iron mobilization, anemia, leukopenia, neutropenia, decreased superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity, in particular erythrocyte superoxide dismutase (ESOD, erythrocyte SOD), decreased ceruloplasmin-C-cytochrome activity oxidases, an increase in plasma cholesterol levels, an increase in the ratio of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol to high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, a decrease in glucose clearance decrease in the level of methionine and leucine-enkephalin, a violation of cardiac activity and the activity of pancreatic enzymes, amylase and lipase.
Side effects:
From the digestive system:
- possible, especially when taking the drug in high doses, dyspepsia, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, heartburn, loss of appetite;
rarely – a metallic taste in the mouth.
From the hematopoietic system:
- hematological disorders caused by copper deficiency, including leukopenia (accompanied by fever, chills, sore throat), neutropenia (with ulcers or pain in the mouth and throat), sideroblastic anemia (accompanied by increased fatigue, weakness).
Others:
-reduction of copper concentration in blood plasma;
rarely headache.
From the immune system:
- allergic reactions to the components of the drug, such as itching and skin rashes.
Storage method:
At a temperature not higher than 30 degrees.
