Composition:
Active ingredients:
Bromhexine hydrochloride - 4 mg/5 ml
Acephylline piperazine - 100 mg/5 ml.
Inactive ingredients:
Methyl paraben, propyl paraben, ethyl alcohol, glycerin, sorbitol 70%, orange flavor, banana oil flavor, citric acid, purified water.
Description:
A combined mucolytic and bronchodilator preparation.
Bromhexine reduces mucus viscosity, enhances ciliary clearance, and facilitates expectoration.
Acephylline piperazine, a theophylline derivative, acts as a bronchodilator by relaxing bronchial smooth muscles, relieving bronchospasm, and stimulating respiration.
Indications for Use:
- Disorders of mucus secretion in acute and chronic respiratory diseases.
- Bronchospasm and bronchial asthma.
- Productive cough with thick sputum and obstructive respiratory conditions.
Dosage and Method of Administration:
Unless otherwise prescribed:
- Adults: 2 tablespoonfuls daily.
- Children (2-6 years): 1 teaspoonful three times daily.
Take after meals.
Do not exceed the recommended dose.
Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to any component of the product.
- Hereditary intolerance to galactose or fructose.
- Peptic ulcer disease (use only under medical supervision).
- Contraindicated during lactation.
Precautions:
- Mucophylline may increase bronchial secretion and facilitate expectoration.
- Very rarely, severe skin reactions (Stevens-Johnson syndrome, Lyell syndrome) have been reported during bromhexine therapy; discontinue treatment if skin or mucosal lesions appear.
- Not intended for long-term use. If no improvement is observed, seek medical advice.
Side Effects:
Possible:
- Diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, mild gastrointestinal discomfort.
- Allergic reactions including rash, urticaria, bronchospasm, angioedema, or anaphylaxis.
- Discontinue use if adverse effects occur.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding:
Use only when clearly necessary and under medical supervision.
Contraindicated during lactation.
Avoid during breastfeeding, as the drug may pass into breast milk.
Storage Conditions:
Store at a temperature not exceeding 30°C in a dry place.
Keep out of reach of children.
