Composition:

Each 1ml contains:

Corticoadrenal extract (equivalent to 150 mg of corticosteroids expressed as hydrocortisone)

50 CDU (corticodynamic unit)

Pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6) 20 mg

Description:

Cortiplex B6 Paediatric is whole extract of adrenal cortex supplemented with vitamin B6.

Vitamin B6 acts as a co-factor for enzymes which are involved in many reactions that affect protein, lipid and carbohydrate metabolism and as well, is effective in reducing the severity of nausea and vomiting.

Properties:

The adrenal gland of the newborn infant is not fully developed and not functioning with its full capacity. During the infancy period, the child is usually exposed to various diseases with various symptoms such as diarrhea or vomiting which causes fluid and electrolyte imbalance. As a result, the infant will be more prone to dehydration.

Cortiplex B, Paediatric with its combination of this 2 active ingredients results in a synergistic action which helps as anti-toxic, anti-emetic and anti-hypotensive.

Indications:

• Exogenous and endogenous toxicosis,

• Acute infectious diseases such as diphteria, scarlet fever, typhoid fever, etc....

• Seasonal gastroenteritis with vomiting such as summer diarrhea of children.

• Acetoanaemic, habitual or other origin of vomiting.

• Dehydration, infantile dystrophy and marasmus.

• Prolonged convalescence

Dosage and administration:

One or two ampoules to be administered daily by intramuscular injection.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity reactions to one or more of the product ingredients.

Precautions:

-Administration of Cortiplex B6 Paediatric does not replace the convential therapy based on serums, anti-infective drugs and cardiovascular drugs.

-Cortiplex B6 Paediatric should be administered in conjunction with rehydration therapy and with convential therapy which will represent an effective therapy.

-This product contains Benzoic acid, which may increase risk of jaundice in newborn babies.

Side effects:

Rarely and in predisposed subjects, allergic reactions have been reported.

Storage Method:

Store at room temperature away from light.

Keep out of reach of children.
