Trade name:
K1-APEX (K1-APEX)
Compound:
Each tablet contains:
Vitamin K1 (cis-phytomenadione) 10 mg
Properties:
“K1-APEX” tablets are recommended as a biologically active food supplement – an additional source of vitamin K. The main function of vitamin K1 in the body is to ensure normal blood clotting. Insufficient content of vitamin K1 in the body increases the risk of bleeding. Therefore, vitamin K1 is prescribed in preparation for surgery to prevent bleeding. In addition to blood coagulation processes, vitamin K is involved in maintaining the permeability and strength of the vascular wall, and accelerates wound healing.
Indications:
– prevention and treatment of bleeding caused by reduced blood clotting associated with hypovitaminosis or vitamin K1 deficiency.
– Treatment of hemorrhagic complications; – hypocoagulation after prolonged obstruction of the biliary tract and in the early stages of cirrhosis of the liver. Gastrointestinal disorders associated with malabsorption after prolonged therapy with antibiotics, sulfonamides and salicylates.
– Hemorrhagic phenomena in newborns, uterine bleeding. In surgical practice with long-term drainage of the biliary tract and in preoperative preparation of patients with reduced blood clotting.
Dosage and administration:
The drug is indicated for resorption in the mouth.
– Bleeding after therapy with indirect anticoagulants. Adults with severe forms – 10-20 mg (1-2 tablets).
Children. The drug is used in pediatric practice. The drug is taken at 5-10 mg.
Contraindications:
– Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
Precautionary measures:
Use during pregnancy and lactation. Phytomenadione is a risk drug during pregnancy. The use of the drug in the I and II trimester of pregnancy is possible according to indications, if the benefit to the mother outweighs the risk to the fetus. Prophylactic administration of vitamin K in the III trimester of pregnancy is ineffective due to its low permeability through the placenta. If it is necessary to use the drug for the period of treatment, it is necessary to stop breastfeeding.
Side effects:
Hypersensitivity: skin rash.
Reactions at the injection site: inflammation, burning pain. From the skin and mucous membranes: increased sweating, cyanosis.
From the side of the cardiovascular system: in rare cases, cardiovascular collapse.
From the respiratory system: bronchospasm.
On the part of the digestive system: hemolytic anemia with a deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, hyperbilirubinemia in newborns. In premature babies and newborns, the system of liver enzymes is poorly developed, therefore, the development of nuclear jaundice, jaundice and hemolytic anemia is possible with slow biotransformation of phytomenadione in the liver.
