Forbudes is a combination inhalation medication used for bronchial asthma and COPD.
The drug contains a combination of an inhaled glucocorticosteroid and a long-acting β₂-agonist. It is used to control symptoms and prevent exacerbations of bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Pharmacological properties:
• Budesonide is a glucocorticosteroid with a pronounced anti-inflammatory effect. It reduces swelling of the respiratory tract mucosa and suppresses the inflammatory process.
• Formoterol is a long-acting β₂-agonist that relaxes the smooth muscles of the bronchi, improving airway patency and easing breathing.
The combination provides both symptom relief and long-term control of airway inflammation.
Indications:
• Maintenance therapy of bronchial asthma
• Treatment and prevention of exacerbations in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Dosage and administration:
For asthma treatment:
For adults and children (12 years and older): two inhalations (80 mcg budesonide / 4.5 mcg formoterol or 160 mcg budesonide / 4.5 mcg formoterol) every 12 hours.
For children (6–11 years): two inhalations (80 mcg budesonide / 4.5 mcg formoterol) every 12 hours.
For treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in adults (18 years and older): two doses (160 mcg budesonide / 4.5 mcg formoterol) every 12 hours.
• Capsules are used with the supplied inhaler. Do not swallow!
• It is important to rinse the mouth after inhalation to prevent oral candidiasis.
Duration of treatment and dosage are determined individually by the physician depending on the severity of the disease.
