Composition:

Fluorometholone 1 mg

Sodium Cromoglycate 20 mg

Inactive ingredients:

Benzalkonium Chloride 0.1 mg (as preservative) 

Properties:

Fluorometholone is a synthetic corticosteroid (glucocorticoid), a derivative of desoxyprednisolone. It is a member of the group of universally known steroids used for the treatment of eye inflammation. Sodium Cromoglycate is a mast cell stabilizer that prevents the subsequent release of inflammatory mediators, including histamine and leukotrienes, which cause allergic symptoms.

Indication:

Eye inflammation and irritation caused by allergies. 

Directions for use:

-This medicine is for ophthalmic use only.

-Take as indicated by your doctor.

-Wash your hands before and after using.

-Shake well before using.

-Do not touch the tip to the eye or other skin. 

-The usual recommended dose is one to two drops instilled into the eye two to four times daily.

-Tilt your head back and look up. Gently pull the lower lid down and instill drops in your eye. Close your eye and put pressure on the inside corner for 30 seconds.

-If you accidentally place too many drops in your eye, wash it with water and  contact your doctor  immediately.

-Prolonged use of Fluca can lead to an increase in the pressure in your eye, or to eye infections. 

-If you forgot to use Fluca, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses.

Side effects:

-Rash; hives; itching; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin; 

-Wheezing; tightness in the chest or throat; trouble breathing, swallowing, or talking; unusual hoarseness; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat,

-Mild stinging and/or burning, elevation of intraocular pressure, mild irritation, redness, abnormal sensation in the eye, eye infection, blurred vision, rash, dryness around the eye.

Contraindications:

-Allergy to the active substances or any other component of this medicine.

-Viral, fungal or severe bacterial eye infection or tuberculosis of the eye. 

Warnings and precautions

  • Talk to your doctor about all your medical conditions before taking this medicine including:

-Any other eye problems including increased pressure in the eye.

-Viral infections like herpes simplex.

  • Prolonged use of this medicine may lead to increased intraocular pressure. This  may lead to eye problems like glaucoma, damage to the nerve of the eye, and lack of clearness of vision.
  • It could also lead to eye infections.
  • The preservative benzalkonium chloride in this eye drop can damage soft contact lenses. If you wear soft contact lenses, wait 15 minutes after using this medicine before putting them back on.
  • Tell your doctor about all the medicines you are taking.
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding:

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, ask your doctor before taking this medicine.

  • Driving and using machines:

This medicine may cause blurred vision. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how you are affected.

  • Keep this medicine out of reach of children.

Storage:

Store at room temperature not exceeding 25°C. Do not freeze.
