Composition:

Each chewable tablet contains:

Simethicone 40 mg

Inactive ingredients:

Aerosil, sugar, sorbitol powder, magnesium stearate, polyvinylpyrrolidone K30, peppermint oil

Properties:

Simethicone is a silicon based surfactant that decreases the surface tension of gastrointestinal gas bubbles to facilitate their elimination.

Indications:

Antiflatulent defoaming agent for the symptomatic relief of flatulence, wind pains, bloating, abdominal distension and other similar symptoms associated with gastrointestinal tract.

Dosage and administration:

Adults, elderly and children over 12 years:

1 to 3 tablets (40-120 mg) three or four times daily or as required for relief, after meals and before bedtime. Chew tablets before swallowing.

Maximum daily dose is 500 mg in 24 hours.

Do not exceed the stated dose.

Side effects:

Minor adverse effects: nausea and constipation. Rarely hypersensitivity reactions such as rush, pruritus, facial oedema, tongue oedema, respiratory difficulty.

Contraindications:

Simethicone is contraindicated in patients with a previous history of hypersensitivity to Simethicone or excipients.

Warnings and precautions:

• Before taking simethicone, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems.
• If you have any health problems, consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this product.
• Chewable tablets may contain sugar and/or aspartame. Caution is advised if you have diabetes, phenylketonuria (PKU), or any other condition that requires you to limit/avoid these substances in your diet. Ask your doctor or pharmacist about using this product safely.
• Before having surgery, tell your doctor or dentist about all the products you use (including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, and herbal products).
• Tell your doctor if you are pregnant before using this product.
• Simethicone does not pass into breast milk and is unlikely to harm a nursing infant. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding.
• Drug interactions may change how your medications work or increase your risk for serious side effects. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicines without your doctor’s approval.
• Simethicone can decrease the absorption of thyroid medications (such as levothyroxine). If you take thyroid medication, take it at least 4 hours before or after products that contain simethicone.
