Composition:

Each capsule contains:

Dried ferrous sulfate 150 mg

(Equivalent to pure iron 47 mg)

Folic acid 0.5 mg

Inactive ingredients:

Corn starch, talc, sucrose, calcium sulfate dihydrate, titanium dioxide, povidone, glycerol monostearate, gelatin, kaolin.

Properties:

Antianemic, combined drug that compensates for the deficiency of iron and folic acid in the body.

Iron is essential for the proper functioning of various heme and non-heme substrates:

hemoglobin, myoglobin, cytochromes, peroxidases and catalases;

Adequate amounts of iron are required for efficient erythropoiesis. Iron serves as a carrier of oxygen and electrons, and also works as a catalyst in vital metabolic processes (oxygenation / oxygenation /, hydroxylation), takes part in cell growth and proliferation, stimulates the function of hematopoietic organs, takes part in immune reactions, participates in DNA synthesis , which is extremely important for the growth and development of the body. Iron in the mother’s body contributes to a sharp decrease in embryotoxic and teratogenic effects, and also has a positive effect on metabolic processes, cognitive activity and the development of the child.

Folic acid is a vitamin of group B. In the body, it is reduced to tetrahydrofolic acid, a coenzyme that is involved in various metabolic processes. Folic acid is essential for the normal maturation of megaloblasts and the formation of normoblasts.Stimulates erythropoiesis, participates in the synthesis of amino acids, nucleic acids, purines and pyrimidines, in the metabolism of choline. Folic acid takes an active part in the processes of regulation of the functions of the hematopoietic organs, has an anti-anemic effect in macrocytic anemia. Daily intake of folic acid in early pregnancy can prevent fetal nerve trunk defects such as anencephaly and spina bifida in 75% of cases. In addition, folic acid prevents premature birth, premature birth and premature rupture of the amniotic membrane. During pregnancy, it protects the body from the action of teratogenic factors.

Indications:

-Treatment and prevention of iron deficiency anemia with folic acid deficiency, as well as iron deficiency conditions caused by pregnancy, impaired absorption of iron from the gastrointestinal tract, prolonged bleeding, malnutrition;

-Prevention of anemia, miscarriage, early childbirth.

Dosage and administration:

Adults:

Take 1 capsule per day. In some cases, the dose can be increased.

Contraindications:

– diseases accompanied by the accumulation of iron in the body (aplastic and hemolytic anemia, thalassemia, hemosiderosis, hemochromatosis);

– violations of iron absorption (sideroahrestic anemia, lead anemia, pernicious anemia / vitamin B12 deficiency);

– anemia not associated with iron or folic acid deficiency (including hemolytic anemia, lead anemia, megaloblastic anemia);

– hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

Warnings and precautions:

It is not recommended to prescribe for hemochromatosis, hemolytic anemia and other conditions characterized by a violation of iron metabolism, an increase in its content in serum and deposition in the body.

When using the drug, dark staining of feces appears, which has no clinical significance.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions, nausea, vomiting, constipation, discomfort in the stomach, dark staining of feces (no clinical significance).
