Properties:

The combination of gestodene + ethinyl estradiol inhibits the secretion of gonadotropic hormones; inhibits the maturation of follicles; interferes with the ovulation process; reduces the susceptibility of the endometrium to the blastocyst and increases the viscosity of the cervical secretion, making it difficult for sperm to enter the uterine cavity.

In women taking COCs, the cycle becomes more regular, the soreness and intensity of menstrual bleeding decrease, as a result of which one of the risk factors for the development of iron deficiency anemia decreases. Taking COCs with a high content of

ethinyl estradiol (50 mcg) reduces the risk of developing ovarian and endometrial cancer.

There are no data confirming this pharmacological effect for COC preparations with a lower ethinyl estradiol content.
