Each 5 ml of solution contains:
Active ingredient:
Docusate sodium - 50 mg.

Inactive ingredients:
Glycerin, Citric acid monohydrate, Trisodium citrate anhydrous, Propylene glycol, Methyl paraben, Propyl paraben, Sucralose, Menthol crystals, Cremophor RH 40, Ponceau red, Purified water.
Description:
Egycusate is a stool softener laxative.
Docusate sodium acts as a fecal softener by increasing the penetration of water and fats into the stool, making it easier to pass and reducing straining during bowel movements. It helps prevent and relieve constipation and promotes comfortable defecation.
Indications for Use:
- Prevention and treatment of chronic constipation
- Prevention of hard or dry stools
- Reduction of straining during defecation in conditions such as hemorrhoids and anal fissures.
Dosage and Method of Administration:
Adults:
10 ml three times daily.

Take orally with plenty of water or a flavored drink (e.g., milk or orange juice).

Maximum daily dose: 30 ml.

Begin with larger doses and reduce gradually as the condition improves.
Elderly:
No dosage adjustment is required.
Children:
Not recommended for children under 12 years (a 12.5 mg/5 ml solution is available).
Duration of treatment:
Consult a physician if constipation persists or worsens during treatment.
Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to docusate sodium or any excipients
- Abdominal pain, intestinal obstruction, nausea, or vomiting.
Precautions:
- Do not take concurrently with mineral oil.
- Use anthraquinone laxatives in reduced doses if co-administered.
- Contains methyl and propyl parabens, which may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed).
- Contains less than 1 mmol sodium (23 mg) per 5 ml - essentially sodium-free.

Pregnancy:
Limited human data; use only if potential benefits outweigh risks.

Breastfeeding:
Docusate sodium is excreted in breast milk - use with caution in nursing mothers.
