Description
Jeparilon is a combination chewable tablet containing Famotidine (10 mg), Calcium Carbonate (800 mg), and Magnesium Hydroxide (165 mg). It is used for the short-term symptomatic relief of heartburn, acid indigestion, hyperacidity, and related digestive discomfort. Its dual action reduces stomach acid and neutralizes it, providing fast and effective relief.
Indications for Use
Short-term symptomatic relief of:
Heartburn
Indigestion
Acid indigestion
Hyperacidity
Directions for Use and Dosage
Adults and children ≥16 years of age:
Chew one tablet for symptom relief
Do not exceed two tablets in 24 hours
Maximum treatment duration: 6 consecutive days
Do not start another course without consulting a doctor or pharmacist
Method of Administration:
For oral use
Chew tablet thoroughly before swallowing
Contraindications
-Hypersensitivity to famotidine, calcium carbonate, magnesium hydroxide, or any excipients
-Cross-sensitivity to other H₂-receptor antagonists
-Moderate to severe renal failure
-Severe hepatic impairment
Precautions
-Consult a physician before use if you:
-Are taking other medications
-Suffer from other illnesses
-Have pre-existing hypercalcaemia or hypermagnesaemia
-Seek medical advice before use if:
-You are over 50 and experiencing new or changed symptoms
-You experience symptoms such as weight loss, anemia, difficulty swallowing, or chest pain
-Discontinue use and consult a doctor if symptoms persist, worsen, or include severe vomiting, black stools, or choking
Not suitable for individuals with:
Fructose intolerance
Glucose-galactose malabsorption
Sucrase-isomaltase deficiency
Lactase insufficiency
Galactosaemia

Common: Headache
Uncommon: Dizziness, Dysgeusia (taste disturbance), Somnolence
Rare: Paraesthesia

Uncommon: Abdominal discomfort, pain, diarrhea, dry mouth, flatulence, nausea, vomiting, oropharyngeal discomfort/pain
Rare: Constipation, upper abdominal pain, abdominal distension, abnormal stools, dyspepsia, eructation (belching), thirst
Hepatobiliary disorders:
Rare: Cholestatic jaundice, liver disorders
Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders:
Uncommon: Rash
Rare: Angioedema, Pruritus, Urticaria
Very rare: Alopecia
Musculoskeletal disorders:
Rare: Arthralgia
Reproductive system and breast disorders:
Rare: Gynecomastia
General disorders and administration site conditions:
Uncommon: Asthenia, fatigue

Rare: Abnormal liver enzyme levels
Pregnancy and Lactation
Pregnancy:
Use only if the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus, as adequate studies in pregnant women are lacking.
Lactation:
Famotidine is excreted in human milk. Magnesium salts may also pass into breast milk and potentially cause diarrhea in infants. A decision must be made to discontinue either breastfeeding or therapy, weighing benefits and risks.
