Composition:
Each 5 ml of syrup contains:
Dexamethasone 0.5 mg
Chlorpheniramine maleate 2 mg.
Auxiliary components:
Propylene glycol, methylparaben, propylparaben, sorbitol, sucrose, diode edetate, sodium metabisulfite, citric acid anhydros, sodium citrate anhydrous, carmoisine, strawberry flavor, purified water.
Properties:
Dexamethasone is a synthetic glucocorticoid (GCS), a methylated derivative of fluoroprednisolone. It has anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, immunosuppressive effects, increases the sensitivity of beta-adrenergic receptors to endogenous catecholamines.
A feature of the action is a significant inhibition of the function of the pituitary gland and an almost complete absence of mineralocorticosteroid activity.
Chlorpheniramine maleate is a blocker of histamine HI-receptors, has antiserotonin, antihistamine, weak anticholinergic, sedative effect. Reduces the severity of allergic reactions mediated by the action of histamine, reduces capillary permeability, narrows blood vessels, eliminates swelling and hyperemia of the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity, nasopharynx and paranasal sinuses; reduces local exudative manifestations, suppresses the symptoms of allergic rhinitis: sneezing, rhinorrhea, itchy eyes, nose.
Indications:
Dexafen is used for inflammatory conditions and allergic diseases such as:
Allergic rhinitis;
Otitis media;
Various allergic skin diseases;
Allergies resulting from taking certain medications, exposure to chemicals or insect bites;
In some cases, rheumatic diseases and hormonal diseases;
Hives and swelling of the body;
Eye allergies and infections;
Respiratory sensitivity.
Method of administration and dosage:
Children from 2 to 6 years old:
1/2 h/ 1 3 times a day
Adults and children over 12 years old:
1 h/ 1 3 times a day.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to components;
Children under 2 years old;
Bronchial asthma ;
Systemic fungal infection.
Precautions:
Dexofen syrup contains sodium metabisulfite, which can cause allergic reactions, including anaphylactic shock.
Contains sucrose. Not for use in patients with sucrose or fructose intolerance. Should be taken with caution in patients with stomach ulcers, tuberculosis.
Side effects:
May cause mild sedation;
Allergic reactions.
From the nervous system: delirium, disorientation, euphoria, hallucinations, manicdepressive psychosis, depression, paranoia, increased intracranial pressure, nervousness or anxiety, insomnia, dizziness, vertigo, cerebellar pseudotumor, headache, convulsions.
Storage method:
In a dry, dark place at a temperature not exceeding 30 degrees.
