Apidone Syrup 125 ml

Composition:

Dexamethasone – 0.5 mg.
Chlorphenamine maleate – 2 mg.
Excipients: sucrose, sodium citrate, citric acid, sodium benzoate, flavoring agent, purified water.

Product Description:

A combined preparation containing the synthetic glucocorticoid dexamethasone and the antihistamine chlorphenamine maleate.
Has pronounced anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic effects.
Dexamethasone suppresses inflammatory reactions of any origin, while chlorphenamine rapidly blocks the action of histamine.

Indications for use:

• Bronchial asthma.
• Allergic rhinitis.
• Urticaria and angioedema.
• Atopic and contact dermatitis.
• Hypersensitivity to drugs, chemicals, and insect bites.
• Stevens–Johnson syndrome and other severe allergic conditions.
• Endocrine diseases (for example, congenital adrenal hyperplasia).
• Rheumatic diseases (for example, rheumatoid arthritis).

Method of administration and dosage:

Dosage is individual and depends on the severity of the disease.
Infants: ½ teaspoon twice daily.
Children: ½ teaspoon three times daily.
Adults: 1 teaspoon three times daily.
Treatment should be discontinued gradually by tapering the dose.

Contraindications:

Systemic fungal infections.
Tuberculosis.
Peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum.
Pregnancy and lactation.
Osteoporosis.
Cushing’s syndrome.
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
Vaccination with live viral vaccines.

Precautions:

Use with caution in diabetes mellitus.
In glaucoma and increased intraocular pressure.
In patients with a history of psychiatric disorders.
In ocular herpes.
Do not discontinue treatment abruptly to avoid withdrawal syndrome.

Adverse reaction / Side effects:

Headache, insomnia. Increased blood sugar levels.
Fluid retention, edema.
Reduced immunity, increased risk of infections.
Allergic reactions: itching, rash, skin redness.

Pregnancy and lactation:

Use is contraindicated.
Dexamethasone and chlorphenamine may cross the placenta and enter breast milk, posing a risk to the fetus and infant.

Storage conditions:

Store at a temperature not exceeding 30°C.
Protect from light and moisture.
Keep out of reach of children.
