Composition:
Each 5 ml ampoule contains:
Trimebutine 50 mg
Excipients:
Propylene glycol, benzyl alcohol, water for injections.
Properties:
Trimebutine acts on the enkephalinergic system of the intestine and serves as a regulator of intestinal peristalsis. By acting on peripheral δ-, μ-, and κ-opioid receptors, including those located directly on the smooth muscles along the entire gastrointestinal tract (GIT), it regulates motility without affecting the central nervous system. Thus, trimebutine restores normal physiological activity of intestinal muscles in various gastrointestinal disorders associated with motility disturbances.
By normalizing visceral sensitivity, trimebutine provides an analgesic effect in abdominal pain syndrome.
Indications:
For oral administration:
Symptomatic treatment of pain associated with functional disorders of the gastrointestinal tract and biliary tract.
Treatment of postoperative paralytic ileus and preparation for radiological and endoscopic examinations.
Dosage and Administration:
The optimal dosing regimen is determined by the physician.

Oral daily dose:
Intramuscular or intravenous single dose – 50 mg; frequency and duration of use depend on the clinical situation.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to trimebutine.
Pregnancy.
Lactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, glucose-galactose malabsorption.
Precautions:
A treatment course for irritable bowel syndrome in the acute phase at a dose of 600 mg per day for four weeks, followed by continued treatment at a dose of 300 mg per day for 12 weeks, helps to prevent disease relapse.
Side Effects:
Gastrointestinal system: dry mouth, unpleasant taste, diarrhea, dyspepsia, nausea, constipation.
Nervous system: drowsiness, fatigue, dizziness, headache, anxiety, sensations of heat or cold.
Allergic reactions: skin rash.
Other: menstrual irregularities, painful enlargement of mammary glands, urinary retention.
