Properties:

It is a blocker of histamine H1 receptors, it also exhibits m-anticholinergic and antiserotonin activity. Prevents the development and facilitates the course of allergic reactions. It also has antipruritic, antiexudative, anticholinergic and sedative effects. The drug stimulates appetite, blocks somatotropin hypersecretion in acromegaly and ACTH secretion in Itsenko-Cushing’s syndrome.

Indications:

– acute and chronic urticaria, serum sickness, hay fever, vasomotor rhinitis;

-toxidermia, itching, eczema, eczematous dermatitis, contact dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, angioedema, insect bites;

– neurodermatitis;

-headaches of vascular etiology (migraine, histamine headache);

– anorexia of various origins (anorexia nervosa, idiopathic anorexia) and exhaustion states (post-infectious state, convalescence, chronic diseases).

Dosage and administration:

Adults: 2 teaspoons 3-4 times a day.

The maximum daily dose is 16 teaspoons.

Children 2-7 years old: 1 teaspoon 2-3 times a day.

The maximum daily dose is 6 teaspoons.

Children 7-14 years old: 2 teaspoons 2-3 times a day.

Contraindications:

– hypersensitivity to the drug;

– angle-closure glaucoma;

– benign prostatic hyperplasia;

– children’s age up to 2 years;

– predisposition to edema;

– urinary retention;

-simultaneous reception with MAO inhibitors;

-pregnancy;

– lactation period.

Precautionary measures:

It can be used together with narcotic analgesics, anxiolytics (under strict medical supervision) for complex preoperative preparation of patients, because the drug not only potentiates the action of simultaneously used drugs, but also prevents the development of undesirable effects of histamine (arterial hypotension, bronchospasm), which is released as a result of trauma to body tissues during surgery.

Influence on the ability to drive vehicles and control mechanisms

During treatment with Triactin, it is recommended to refrain from driving vehicles and operating machinery, as well as performing work associated with an increased risk.

Side effects:

Transient drowsiness, which rarely requires discontinuation of the drug.

Less common are dry mouth, anxiety, confusion, ataxia, visual hallucinations, dizziness, nausea, skin rashes, agitation, headache.

Storage method:

At a temperature not higher than 30 degrees.
