Structure:

Each IOOg of cream contains:

Acyclovir – 5g.

Auxiliary components: liquid paraffin, propylene glycol, methylparaben, propylparaben, triethanolamine, cetostearyl alcohol. Cetomacrogol 1000 and water.

Properties:

Acyclovir is an antiviral agent. Active against herpes simplex virus (HSV) types I and Il and Varicella zoster virus (chickenpox).

Indications:

for the treatment of skin infections caused by the herpes simplex virus, including initial and recurrent genital herpes and labial herpes.

Mode of application:

Adults and children: acyclovir cream should be applied 5 times a day with an interval of 4 hours, excluding at night. It should be applie to lesions or impending lesions as early as possible after the onset of infection, when t first lesions appear. The duration of treatment

is 5 days. If healing has not occurred – up to 10 days.

Precautions:

the cream is not recommended to be applied to mucous membranes (mouth, eyes or vagina) may cause irritation. Avoid contact with eyes. Use with caution in patients with severe immunosuppression.

Side effects:

temporary burning or tingling sensation, peeling of the skin, itching, contact dermatitis.

Pregnancy and lactation:

should be used with caution during pregnancy and only if the expected benefit to the mother outweighs any possible risk to the fetus. This medication may pass into breast milk, consult your doctor.

Storage:

Store at a temperature not exceeding 30C in a dry place out of the reach of children.
