Compound:

Each gram of ointment contains:

Alclomethasone dipropionate 0.05% w/w

Auxiliary components:

Hexylene glycol, propylene glycol monostearate, white beeswax, white petrolatum.

Properties:

Non-halogenated synthetic GCS for external use. It has anti-inflammatory, antiallergic, antipruritic and antiproliferative effects.

When applied to the surface of the skin in the focus of inflammation, it quickly and effectively reduces the severity of objective symptoms (erythema, edema, lichenification) and subjective sensations (itching, irritation, pain).

Indications:

Dermatoses in which topical corticosteroid therapy is effective (including on the face and in the anogenital area): atopic dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, allergic and contact dermatitis, solar dermatitis, allergic reactions to insect bites.

Dosage and administration:

Pirderm ointment is used only externally.

The ointment is applied in a thin layer, gently rubbing, on the affected area 2-3 times a day. It should not be used for a long time with the use of occlusive dressings, on large areas with affected skin, since it is possible to increase the absorption of alklomethasone, except in the treatment of patients with severe and resistant (resistant) dermatitis. After the symptoms subside, therapy should be discontinued.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to alklomethasone or other components of the drug. Skin tuberculosis, skin reactions after vaccination, viral skin lesions (especially Herpes Simplex), chickenpox (chicken pox), perioral dermatitis, rosacea and acne.

Precautionary measures:

If hypersensitivity reactions (skin irritation accompanied by itching, burning and redness) are observed during the use of the drug, therapy should be stopped immediately.

Prolonged use of the drug on large areas of the skin is not recommended, especially with the use of occlusive dressings; careful monitoring is necessary due to the possibility of increased absorption of alklomethasone, as well as systemic manifestations. Patients who are at risk of systemic side effects caused by alklomethasone (children with liver dysfunction and patients requiring long-term treatment) should periodically monitor the functions of the hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal glands (free cortisol test in urine and blood plasma, ACTH stimulation test ). If depression is established, it is necessary to stop taking the drug, reduce the frequency of use.

Pirderm ointment should not be used to treat the eyes and around the eyes due to the possible occurrence of glaucoma and cataracts. In cases of fungal or bacterial superinfection of the skin, additional local administration of antibiotics or antifungal agents is also necessary.

Side effects:

Topical application of alklomethasone in therapeutic doses is well tolerated and rarely causes side effects. In 1-2% of patients, when applied topically, the drug can cause rash, itching, erythema or dry skin, irritation and acne. Very rarely, skin changes similar to acne, hyperpigmentation can occur.

Systemic side effects with the use of alklomethasone can suppress the function of the adrenal glands, which may be a consequence of long-term use on large areas of the skin.
