Dimethicone (350) 10 gm

Zinc oxide 7.5 gm

Description

Topical protective and soothing cream containing dimethicone and zinc oxide. Provides astringent, moisturizing, and water-repellent effects. Helps protect the skin from irritation, moisture loss, and external irritants.

Pharmacological action

ZINCOSIL cream has the propertles to act as protective, astringent and soothing through the action of its two active ingredients; Dimethicone which has the advantages of being water repellent and adhesive and zine oxide which acts as astringent and soothing.

ZINCOSIL protects the skin against water soluble irritants and keeps it moistened by preventing excess evaporation and over hydration of the skin.

Dimethicone is not absorbed via the GI tract; zinc oxide may be absorbed when ingested

Contains emollients and excipients: wool fat, white soft paraffin, methylparaben, propylparaben, purified water

Indications for Use

For softening and moisturizing the skin

For prevention and treatment of bedsores

For skin protection in cases of colostomy and incontinence

For protection against chemical irritants and heat

To reduce hyperhidrosis

Dosage & Application :

A thin layer of the cream is applied to the skin and massaged gently 2 - 3 times daily or as prescribed by the physician.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to any of the components.

Black discoloration has been reported when zinc oxide and glycerol are in contact in the presence of light.

Pregnancy & lactation:

- Not be proved to be safe so it is only used under supervision of the physician.

- Not to be applied on the breast during lactation due to the presence of zine oxide
