Composition:
Each capsule contains:
Standardized lyophilisate OM‑85 (7 mg bacterial lysates):
Haemophilus influenzae;
Streptococcus pneumoniae;
Klebsiella pneumoniae and ozaenae;
Staphylococcus aureus;
Streptococcus pyogenes and viridans;
Moraxella catarrhalis.
Product Description:
- Broncho‑Vaxom is an immunostimulant of bacterial origin.
- It induces an immune response in the gastrointestinal mucosa, particularly in Peyer’s patches of the small intestine.
- It activates antigen‑presenting cells, stimulates B‑lymphocytes, and increases antibody production (IgG, IgA), strengthening respiratory tract defense.
- It enhances leukocyte activity and receptor expression, boosting immune protection against infections.
Indications for Use:
Prevention of recurrent respiratory tract infections and exacerbations of chronic bronchitis in adults and children ≥ 12 years.
Treatment of acute respiratory tract infections (as part of combination therapy).
Method of Administration and Dosage:
- For treatment of acute and chronic infections: 1 capsule daily in the morning on an empty stomach until symptoms resolve, for at least 10 days. May be combined with antibiotics if required.
- For prevention: 1 capsule daily in the morning on an empty stomach. Course: 3 cycles of 10 days each, with 20‑day intervals between cycles.
- If swallowing is difficult, the capsule may be opened and mixed with water, juice, or milk.
Contraindications:
Pregnancy.
Lactation.
Hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation.
Precautions:
Components may cause hypersensitivity reactions.
If persistent gastrointestinal disorders, skin reactions, respiratory symptoms, or intolerance occur, treatment should be discontinued.
Adverse Effects:
- Immune system: uncommon — hypersensitivity reactions (rash, erythema, edema of face/eyelids, peripheral edema).
- Nervous system: common — headache.
- Respiratory system: common — cough.
- Gastrointestinal tract: common — diarrhea, abdominal pain; uncommon — nausea, vomiting.
- Skin: common — rash.
Pregnancy and Lactation:
Contraindicated.
Storage Conditions:
Store at 15–25 °C.
