Bromhexine hydrochloride – 8 mg per tablet

Lactose monohydrate, starch, magnesium stearate
Description:
A mucolytic agent for the treatment of acute and chronic bronchopulmonary diseases involving abnormal mucus secretion and transport. White, round, flat tablets with beveled edges, for oral use.
A mucolytic agent with expectorant action. Reduces the viscosity of bronchial mucus by depolymerizing acidic polysaccharides and stimulating the production of surfactant-containing secretions.

Indications for Use:
Secretolytic therapy of acute and chronic bronchopulmonary diseases associated with impaired mucus formation and transport:
tracheobronchitis
chronic bronchitis
bronchial asthma
cystic fibrosis
chronic pneumonia
Directions for Use:
Adults and adolescents over 14 years: 1–2 tablets three times daily (24–48 mg bromhexine/day)
Children aged 6–14 years and patients under 50 kg bodyweight: 1 tablet three times daily (24 mg bromhexine/day)
Take the tablets orally after meals with plenty of liquid. Do not take for more than 4–5 days without medical advice.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to bromhexine
Children under 6 years (for this dosage form)
Precautions:
Use with caution in patients with peptic ulcer or a history of gastrointestinal bleeding
Caution in patients with bronchial asthma
Do not use concurrently with codeine-containing products
Use during pregnancy and lactation only as prescribed by a physician
Side Effects:
Gastrointestinal: dyspepsia, transient increase in liver enzymes
CNS: headache, dizziness
Dermatologic: sweating, rash
Respiratory: cough, bronchospasm
Storage Conditions:
Store in a dry place at temperatures not exceeding 30 °C.
