Properties:

Local anesthetic for surface anesthesia. The action is due to the blockade of voltagedependent sodium channels, which prevents the generation of impulses at the endings of the sensory nerves and the conduction of pain impulses along the nerve fibers.

When applied topically, it dilates blood vessels, does not have a local irritating effect. Has an analgesic effect.

The effect develops within 1-5 minutes after application to the mucous membranes or skin and lasts for 30-60 minutes.

Indications:

For terminal (surface) anesthesia.

Temporary relief of pain and itching.

Method of administration and dosage:

Adults and children over 12 years old:

Use up to 6 times a day, superficially on the skin.

Children under 12:

Contraindications:

It should be used with caution in instrumental studies (rectoscopy) in patients with hemorrhoidal bleeding, local infection in the area of application, trauma of the mucous membrane or skin in the area of application, severe somatic pathology, epilepsy, bradycardia, cardiac conduction disturbances, liver dysfunction, severe shock , in young children, elderly patients, during pregnancy and lactation.

Precautions:

Care should be taken when applying lidocaine to damaged mucous membranes and / or infected areas.

Side effects:

Local reactions: a slight tingling sensation, which disappears as the anesthetic effect develops (within 1 min); transient erythema, edema, and sensory disturbances may occur.
