Cyclobenzaprine Hydrochloride 15 mg.
Prinorelax is a centrally acting muscle relaxant. The drug is used to relieve muscle spasms, reduce pain, and improve mobility, especially in acute musculoskeletal conditions caused by injury or overstrain. It has a prolonged effect due to extended-release capsules.
Pharmacological properties:
• Cyclobenzaprine is structurally and pharmacologically similar to tricyclic antidepressants.
• It alleviates skeletal muscle spasms by inhibiting activity in the central nervous system (at the brainstem level).
• It does not directly affect the neuromuscular junction or muscle tissue.
• The maximum effect develops within a few days after starting therapy.
Indications:
• Acute conditions accompanied by painful muscle spasms
• Pain in the back, neck, shoulders
• Sprains, bruises, soft tissue injuries
• Adjunctive treatment in physiotherapy and post-traumatic rehabilitation.
Dosage and administration:
• Adults:
15 mg once daily; if necessary, up to 30 mg per day divided into 2 doses.
• Course duration: Usually no more than 2–3 weeks, unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor.
• Take the capsule whole with water, regardless of food intake.
