Composition:
Each tablet contains:
- Diclofenac Potassium 50 mg
- Methocarbamol 500 mg.
Excipients:
Maize starch, Povidone K30, Potassium sorbate, Croscarmellose sodium, Avicel PH 102, Colloidal silicon dioxide, Magnesium stearate.
Description:
Methoquick is a combination medicinal product that unites the anti-inflammatory and analgesic action of diclofenac with the muscle-relaxant effect of methocarbamol.
This dual action provides effective relief of pain, inflammation, and muscle spasm commonly associated with traumatic or musculoskeletal conditions.
The tablets are intended for oral use and provide comprehensive symptomatic relief.
Indications for Use:
Used for relief of pain associated with muscle spasm in:
- Strains;
- Sprains;
- Back pain;
- Tense neck muscles; and other musculoskeletal conditions accompanied by trauma and spasm.
Dosage and Method of Administration:
For oral use.
Preferably taken with or after food.
Swallow tablets whole with liquid.
Dose:
Unless otherwise prescribed - 1 to 3 tablets daily, divided into doses after meals.
Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration.
Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to diclofenac, methocarbamol or excipients.
- Active or recurrent peptic ulcer/hemorrhage.
- NSAID-induced hypersensitivity reactions (asthma, rhinitis, urticaria).
- Severe heart, renal or hepatic failure.
- History of GI bleeding or perforation with NSAIDs.
- Last trimester of pregnancy.
- (Methocarbamol) coma, pre-coma, epilepsy, brain damage, myasthenia gravis.
Precautions:
- NSAIDs increase the risk of serious cardiovascular thrombotic events.
- High risk of GI bleeding, ulceration, and perforation, especially in elderly patients.
- Avoid combination with other NSAIDs or drugs increasing GI risk.
- Hepatic, renal and cardiovascular monitoring is required in at-risk patients.
- May mask symptoms of infection.
- Serious skin reactions (SJS, TEN) may occur; discontinue at first signs.
- Methocarbamol potentiates CNS depressants and alcohol.
- May interfere with laboratory tests (5-HIAA, VMA).
- Diclofenac may impair female fertility.
Side Effects:
GI: nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, dyspepsia, gastritis, ulcer, bleeding, perforation.
Cardiovascular: hypertension, oedema, heart failure, thrombotic events.Allergic: rash, urticaria, angioedema, anaphylaxis.
Renal: nephritis, renal failure.
Hepatic: abnormal liver tests, hepatitis, jaundice.
Neurological: dizziness, drowsiness, headache, confusion, hallucinations, aseptic meningitis.
Methocarbamol-related: diplopia, nystagmus, hypotension, bradycardia, seizures.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding:
Pregnancy:
Contraindicated in the third trimester.
Avoid during first two trimesters unless necessary.
Breastfeeding:
NSAIDs may appear in breast milk; avoid if possible.
Storage Conditions:
Store in a dry place below 30°C.
Keep away from reach of children.
Packaging:
Carton box containing 3 strips each with 10 tablets, plus leaflet.
