Structure:

Each gram of cream contains:

10 mg pimecrolimus

Auxiliary components:

sodium hydroxide, citric acid anhydrous, benzyl alcohol, sodium cetostearyl sulfate, mono- and diglycerides, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, propylene glycol, Oleyl alcohol, medium-chain triglycerides, purified water

Properties:

Pimecrolimus – a derivative of the macrolactam ascomycin, has an anti-inflammatory effect. Selectively inhibits the production and release of cytokines and mediators from Tlymphocytes and mast cells.

Pimecrolimus specifically binds to the cytosolic receptor macrophilin-12 and inhibits calciumdependent phosphatase – calcineurin.

Calcineurin inhibition leads to suppression of the proliferation of T-lymphocytes and prevents the transcription and production of early cytokines in T-helpers 1 and 2, such as interleukin-2, interferon gamma, interleukin interleukin-5, interleukin-10, tumor necrosi factor a and granulocyte-macrophage colonystimulating factor. Pimecrolimus and

tacrollmus equally suppress the secondary immune response in isolated cell colonies of skin T-helpers obtained from patients with atopic dermatitis.
