Each 120 mg tablet contains:
Active ingredient: Etoricoxib 120 mg.
Description:
Anselacox is a selective COX-2 inhibitor with anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic properties. It is used for symptomatic treatment of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute gouty arthritis, and for short-term treatment of moderate pain following dental surgery in adults and adolescents aged 16 years and older.
Indications for Use:
Osteoarthritis
Rheumatoid arthritis
Ankylosing spondylitis
Acute gouty arthritis
Moderate pain after dental surgery (short-term).
Dosage and Method of Administration:
Osteoarthritis: 30 mg once daily (may increase to 60 mg)
Rheumatoid arthritis: 60 mg once daily (max 90 mg)
Ankylosing spondylitis: 60 mg once daily (max 90 mg)
Acute gouty arthritis: 120 mg once daily, up to 8 days
Post-dental surgery pain: 90 mg once daily, max 3 days
Take orally with or without food. Faster effect if taken on an empty stomach.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to ingredients.
Active GI ulcer or bleeding.
NSAID hypersensitivity (aspirin triad).
Severe hepatic dysfunction.
Renal impairment (CrCl <30 mL/min).
Children under 16 years.
Inflammatory bowel disease.
CHF (NYHA II–IV).
Uncontrolled hypertension.
IHD, cerebrovascular or peripheral arterial disease.
Pregnancy and lactation.
Precautions:
GI risk: ulcers and bleeding.
CV risks: use lowest effective dose.
Monitor liver and renal function.
Monitor blood pressure.
Risk of serious skin reactions.
May mask fever and inflammation.
Not recommended for women planning pregnancy.
Side Effects:
Very common: abdominal pain.
Common: headache, dyspepsia, nausea, diarrhea, oedema, dizziness.
Uncommon: insomnia, ulcers, vision changes, anaemia, rash, pruritus, elevated liver enzymes.
Rare: hepatitis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, TEN, renal failure.
Pregnancy and Lactation:
Contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding. May cause oligohydramnios and fetal renal impairment if used after 20 weeks gestation.
Storage Conditions:
Store in a dry place below 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
