Composition:

• Azithromycin - 500 mg in one tablet

Pharmacological properties:

Azithromycin inhibits protein synthesis in bacterial cells by binding to the 50S subunit of the ribosome. It has a bactericidal or bacteriostatic effect depending on the concentration in the site of infection and the sensitivity of the pathogen.

Indications for use:

The drug is prescribed for the following infections:
• Acute bronchitis and exacerbation of chronic bronchitis
• Sinusitis
• Otitis media
• Skin and soft tissue infections
• Community-acquired pneumonia
• Pharyngitis and tonsillitis
• Uncomplicated urogenital infections caused by:
– Chlamydia trachomatis
– Neisseria gonorrhoeae

Method of administration and dosage:

• Adults are usually prescribed 1 tablet (500 mg) 1 time per day, the course is from 3 to 5 days depending on the type and severity of the infection.
• For urogenital infections: a single dose of 1 g of azithromycin (2 tablets of 500 mg at the same time).
• Take 1 hour before meals or 2 hours after.
